Murrieta Soccer Stadium Project: Consultant Sought

The project includes six soccer fields, an outdoor stadium with a capacity of up to 5,000 seats, a building for locker rooms, and more.

MURRIETA, CA โ€” The City of Murrieta is seeking proposals from "qualified individuals and firms" who can act as a lead consultant on the development of a soccer complex at Los Alamos Hills Sports Park on Ruth Ellen Way.

The project includes six soccer fields, an outdoor stadium with a capacity of up to 5,000 seats, a building for locker rooms, meetings and miscellaneous needs, and onsite and offsite parking, according to city documents.

A 2018 memorandum of understanding entered into by the city and Murrieta Youth Soccer League expressed interest in the complex.

"As a primary benefit to residents of Murrieta, the fields will provide much needed recreational amenities," city documents read. "As an additional benefit, the proposal could draw thousands of visitors to the area each year, which could provide the city with additional complementary revenue toward local shops, restaurants and hotels."

Whoever is selected to lead the project must have "the capacity and expertise to provide a consultant to lead the entitlement and environmental permitting" for the complex, "including the processing of a use permit and environmental document through a regulatory process," according to city documents.
