No Powerball Winners: Jackpot Will Grow to $415 Million

It's happening again. The Powerball jackpot is taking flight, soaring up to $361.5 million Wednesday— and it appears it will continue to grow. There were no jackpot winners in the May 4 Powerball drawing, according to lottery officials.

California Lottery officials say the jackpot rolled 17 times before Wednesday. Should someone have hit big and matched all five numbers and the red "powerball," the cash payout would have been $234,900,000.

The Powerball winning numbers for May 4, 2016 were:

Officials say on Saturday, May 7, the Grand Prize will be an estimated $415 million. That's $269,700,000 for the cash option.

The Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. local time. You can buy tickets up until 7 p.m. at most locations. Check for results at the California Lottery’s Powerball site to see if you’ve won.

The California Lottery is one of 44 lotteries nationwide, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, that participate in the Powerball drawing. Tickets can be purchased at any lottery vendor of more than 22,000 California Lottery retail locations.

Earlier this year Powerball fever reached new heights, when a billion dollar jackpot was on the line. On Jan. 13, three people finally won a $1,586,400,000 jackpot after it rolled 19 times, California Lottery officials say.

One of those tickets was bought in Chino Hills. To date, they have yet to come forward, according to lottery officials. The other two winners-- in Florida and Tennessee-- have claimed their prize.
