Retired Murrieta Police K-9 Rocky Passes
"K-9 Rocky was a respected member of the K-9 community and will be missed," the Murrieta Police Department shared.

MURRIETA, CA โ Murrieta police announced that one of their retired police dogs has passed.
The death of K-9 Rocky, an 11-year-old Belgian Malinois who was born and trained in the Netherlands, was announced Tuesday.
After arriving in California, Rocky received his policework training from Jurupa Valley's Adlerhorst International LLC and went on to serve as a Murrieta Police Department K-9 from 2013 until his retirement in July 2018. He was certified in both patrol and narcotics detection, and he worked closely with the Murrieta Police Department's SWAT team.

"Rocky had a busy career and scored numerous apprehensions with our agency, our SWAT team and with several of our surrounding agencies. He had a great nose for drugs and used it to help locate and seize countless narcotics, preventing them from spreading throughout our neighborhoods," the department shared on social media.
Rocky also competed in several K-9 trials and competitions, winning numerous awards, the department stated. His most prized honor was winning 1st place at the 2016 Camp Pendleton Iron Dog competition.
