Several Goats Killed, Injured In Nuevo Fire

The fire ripped through multiple outbuildings and destroyed vehicles, as well.

NUEVO, CA โ€” Numerous goats were killed and others injured when a fire ripped through several outbuildings in Nuevo over the weekend. The fire was reported about 4 p.m. Sunday near Lakeview Avenue and 11th Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire department says nearly two dozen firefighters battled the blaze, which burned three to four outbuildings and some vehicles.

Fire officials said six to eight goats died in the fire and four others suffered burn injuries, City News Service reported.

Riverside County Animal Control officers were summoned to the scene to aid the injured goats, the fire department said.

The fire was contained by 5 p.m.
