Sinkhole Near Murrieta Town Center Shuts Down Street
A large sinkhole opened up Saturday near the Murrieta Town Center, shutting down Alta Murrieta Drive in both directions.
MURRIETA, CA — A large sinkhole forced the closure of Alta Murrieta Drive in Murrieta Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The sinkhole, in front of the Murrieta Town Center, closed down Alta Murrieta between Rockcrest Drive and Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
It is in the same location as a previous sinkhole that opened up in February 2019, which took several days to repair.

Traffic is being re-routed and authorities asked the public to avoid the area, with no timetable for when the roadway would be reopened.
