A student at Temecula Valley High School was critically injured in a fall at the campus while taking part in an activity that simulated blindness, it was reported Thursday.
Osmani Leyva fell from a second floor railing and down a flight of steps around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Student Corey Williams said he saw Leyva walking around with a blindfold made of paper towels as part of an anatomy project, NBC4 reported in Los Angeles. Williams said Leyva had no guide with him.

Robin Griffin, a studentโs mother, said her daughter gave her the same account, NBC4 reported, adding that the blindfolded students โwere supposed to have partnersโ.
An unnamed witness told NBC4 he did not see Leyva wearing a blindfold and that the student slipped backward off a railing.
