Suspect Captured Following Police Manhunt Monday Night in Murrieta
A sheriff's helicopter crew aided in the search Monday night for Jason Ramon Harris, 38, wanted in connection with an alleged felony battery incident against a female acquaintance, a Murrieta police lieutenant said.

A man wanted on suspicion of felony battery was arrested by Murrieta police late Monday following an air and ground search that brought out a sheriffโs helicopter crew.
Jason Ramon Harris, 38, allegedly inflicted serious bodily injury on a female acquaintance earlier Monday, and officers had went to a residence in the 24000 block of Morella Circle at about 8 p.m. in an attempt to contact him, according to Lt. Jon Flavin.
โThe suspect jumped the back fence of the residence and fled on foot," Flavin wrote, in an emailed response to Patch.

A perimeter was set up near Morella Circleโoff of California Oaks Road, south of Clinton Keith Roadโand a Riverside County sheriffโs helicopter crew was requested to assist in the search effort.
The perimeter was broken down and the helicopter crew cleared by about 9:20 p.m. after he was not immediately located, according to the lieutenant.

The investigation continued, with officers ultimately returning to Morella Circle at 11 p.m. They made contact with Harris and he was taken into police custody on suspicion of felony battery, false imprisonment and obstructing an officer, according to Flavin.
Harris was booked at Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of the arrest charges and was tentatively due in court Thursday, jail records showed.
As of Tuesday afternoon, records indicated he was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
