SUV Knocks Down Pole, Trees & Fence In Murrieta Area Crash
BREAKING: Two people were in the car when the crash occurred.
MURRIETA, CA โ Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning following a single-vehicle crash off a Murrieta-area roadway, Patch has learned. Reports from the scene indicate the driver crashed off Murrieta Hot Springs Road, hit a light pole, multiple trees and an electrical meter โ all before going through a fence and coming to a rest in some bushes.
The crash was first reported around 10:15 a.m. in the area of Murrieta Hot Springs Road, just west of Pourroy Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Preliminary reports indicate the 2016 Nissan Rogue went off Murrieta Hot Springs before eventually landing behind a home in a nearby neighborhood.
"The driver made an unsafe turning movement, colliding with the curb at the north roadway edge of Murrieta Hot Springs," CHP Officer Mike Lassig tells Patch. "Her vehicle traveled up the curb, collided into a light pole and two trees. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels."

Lassig says a woman and a 6-year-old boy were in the SUV at the time. They were both evaluated by paramedics and taken to the hospital with a "complaint of pain."
The wreck led to the temporary closure of part of Murrieta Hot Springs road in the area while crews clear the debris. Southern California Edison was also called out, to repair the light pole that was struck and knocked down.

The partial closure will last until the two downed trees are removed, Lassig said.
