Tampered Halloween Candy Found In Riverside County
Police said officers were notified of the tampered candy Thursday when a resident posted a photo of the Halloween candy on social media.

BEAUMONT, CA -- A piece of candy distributed during trick-or-treating in Beaumont was tampered with, police said Saturday. Police said officers were notified of the tampered candy Thursday when a resident posted a photo of the Halloween candy on social media.
The resident told officers that the previous evening she and her family had taken their children trick-or-treating to the homes in the area of 1st Street and Seneca Springs Parkway, police said.
The family went home and as she was sorting through the candy she noticed that one of the pieces appeared to have been tampered with, police said.

Police said officers were unable to determine the origin of the candy or if the tampering was done intentionally.
Police reminded the public to thoroughly check and inspect your children’s Halloween candy for any signs of tampering. If the candy has been opened or appears to have been tampered with do not allow your child to consume it, but instead contact the Beaumont Police Department on our non-emergency line at 951-769-8500.
