Temecula Valley CHP Seeks Donations for Annual 'CHiP's for Kids' Drive
Over the last decade, hundreds of youth from Southwest Riverside County have benefited from the program locally.

TEMECULA VALLEY, CA โ As the holiday season kicks into high gear, local California Highway Patrol officers are again collecting toy donations for the less fortunate children of the region.
CHP Officer Mike Lassig says the Temecula Area CHP Office will be collecting unwrapped toys at their office and at any area Walgreens store from now through Dec. 21.
"The Temecula CHP area has successfully participated in this program for the last decade," Lassig said. "With the help of compassionate supporters in the communities we serve, our Area squad has been able to distribute toys to hundreds of less fortunate children in the Southwest Riverside County."

The program first started in the Los Angeles area some 20 years ago, and now every CHP office in the state participates.
Uniformed CHP officers will hand out the donated gifts the week before and up to Christmas, according to Lassig.
