Thunderstorm Roars Into Southwest Riverside County

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA โ The tail end of a winter storm moved across Riverside County Friday, with forecasters calling for a chance of showers through Friday evening in the valleys and Inland Empire โ though more snow was forecast for the mountains.
A winter weather advisory was cancelled for the Riverside County valleys and Inland Empire, but a winter storm warning was in effect through 10 p.m. in the mountains.
The National Weather Service called for additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with locally greater amounts possible during the late afternoon and evening. Snow levels were expected to be at 3,500 feet. The most likely time for additional heavier snowfall is during the late afternoon and evening, the NWS said.

It was then expected to be partly cloudy, followed by mostly sunny, on Saturday.
