Video of Sheriff Deputy Making Arrest Goes Viral

โ€œA video posted to Facebook on Saturday, June 6 showing a Riverside County Sheriffโ€™s Deputy forcefully arresting a man went viral over the weekend with nearly 200,000 hits in just two days,โ€ reported Valley News.

It has more than 4,700 shares and a handful of comments that mostly involve curse words towards the police.

The video depicts a deputy struggling with a man who is being uncooperative, and physically resisting his commands. The deputy is fully aware he is being filmed by one of the occupants in the car. The deputy takes the man who refuses to put his hands behind his back to the ground, and is surrounded by two others. At one point, the suspect gets the deputy in a headlock.

Riverside County Sheriffโ€™s Department released the following statement:

The deputy depicted in the video was pulled over on the side of the road when the occupants of the vehicle in this video drove by and yelled at the deputy to get his attention. The deputy decided to stop the vehicle to check the welfare of the occupants. Upon stopping the vehicle, the deputy noticed open alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle as well as the odor of marijuana. As depicted in the video, the vehicle occupant caused a dangerous situation by refusing to comply with the deputyโ€™s investigation and the deputy used force to effect the arrest of the subject.
