Wind Advisory Issued For Murrieta

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Windy conditions are expected to prevail across Riverside County and Murrieta Tuesday evening and part of Wednesday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory

The advisory will be in effect in Murrieta from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 2 p.m. Wednesday, with north winds forecast to blow 20 to 25 mph, gusting between 55 and 70 mph in isolated locations, according to the NWS.

Meteorologists said the entire Inland Empire will be impacted, and motorists going through the San Gorgonio and Cajon passes should drive with extra care, especially in high-profile vehicles.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," the NWS said. "Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result."

Several low-pressure systems sweeping across Southern California into Arizona are stirring the offshore winds, according to forecasters.

"The Santa Anas will die down Wednesday afternoon, and onshore flow will begin to increase," the NWS stated.

The Weather Service said that the next shot of rain is Thursday night into Friday, but the amount of precipitation is expected to be nominal for the Inland Empire.

High temperatures will generally range from the low 60s to mid-70s in the region between Wednesday and Friday, with spikes into the upper 70s and low 80s over the weekend, according to forecasters. Lows will hover in the low to mid-40s.
