2 Napa Schools Awarded $8,000 In Education Grants
Two Napa schools are among dozens in the Bay Area that will be able to fund new educational programs thanks to a grant.
NAPA, CA — Two Napa schools are among dozens in the Bay Area awarded a combined $100,000 in grants to fund programs ranging from musical instruments to Korean language classes to Chromebook laptops for students to use in classrooms.
Harvest Middle School in Napa will use its $3,000 grant to create a sports scholarship program for students who don't have enough money to participate in sports, as well as to purchase new sports equipment.
And Veritas Christian Academy will use its $5,000 grant to buy technology and increase access to after-school STEM programs.

The grants, presented on Dec. 12 to students and teachers, were given out as part of the Wells Fargo KNBR Step Up to the Plate program, which has granted more than $1.3 million over the last 18 years.
Brandon Crawford, shortstop for the San Francisco Giants, helped present the combined $100,000 in grants to 32 Bay Area schools.
