Authorities ID 3 Napa County Residents Who Died In Hennessey Fire
The three deaths are among five fatalities linked to the LNU Lightning Complex fires.
NAPA COUNTY,CA — The Coroner’s Bureau of the Napa County Sheriff’s Office has identified three victims of the LNU Lightning Complex Hennessey Fire as Napa residents.
The fatalities were discovered Aug. 19 in a residence in the 6900 block of state Highway 128, south of Lake Berryessa.
The victims have been identified as 70-year-old Mary Kathryn Hintemeyer, 71-year-old Leo Thomas McDermott, and Leo's 40-year-old son, Thomas Leo McDermott.

"The fatalities are directly related to the Napa LNU Complex fires," Napa County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Henry Wofford said in a statement issued late Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff's office has confirmed the three victims lived in the home where deputies discovered their bodies Aug. 19.

"Their home was engulfed by the wildfire on August 18th , 2020, however the exact time and date of the deaths have not been determined," Wofford said.
The three deaths are among five fatalities related to the LNU Lightning Complex fires. Two others died in Solano County, including a PG&E employee who died Aug. 19 while clearing lines and other equipment to make the area safe for firefighters and other first responders.
