Big Rig Overturns, Spills Fuel On Hwy 221 In Napa County
The hazmat situation blocked all lanes of state Highway 221 at Anderson Road.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A big rig overturned Friday morning on state Highway 221 in Napa County, creating a hazmat spill and backing up traffic.
The semi crashed around 6:40 a.m. on southbound SR-221 at Anderson Road, spilling 60 gallons of diesel fuel, the California Highway Patrol reported.
As of 10:15 a.m., CHP reported all lanes were blocked and there were severe traffic delays.

Caltrans and Napa County Office of Emergency Services determined no waterways were affected by the spill and there were no storm drains in the area, CHP dispatchers reported.
At noon, the spill area was declared safe by a Caltrans supervisor, and at 12:11 p.m. all lanes were reopened, the CHP said.
