NAPA COUNTY, CA — Motorists traveling on state Highway 128 —SR-128/Silverado Trail — in Napa County should expect traffic delays near the Conn Creek Bridge construction site this week, Caltrans said.

Wednesday through Friday, crews will be installing key bridge components for the Conn Creek Bridge Replacement project, which requires a temporary lane or highway closure on SR-128 between Conn Creek Road and Sage Canyon Road.

Construction is scheduled to take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Flaggers will direct motorists during these closures and traffic delays are to be expected, according to Caltrans District 4 Spokesman Pedro Quintana.

"The project is necessary because of the wear and tear on the existing bridge’s foundation from the creek’s current," Quintana said. "The new bridge will be wider to accommodate trucks turning right from eastbound SR-128 (Conn Creek Road) onto Silverado Trail."
