Cal Fire 'Not Letting Guard Down' In Battle Against Glass Fire
"Chances of rain are pretty minimal over the weekend so we are going to keep our boots on the ground to keep this fire in check."
NORTH BAY, CA — As containment grows on the Glass Fire in Napa and Sonoma counties, authorities continue to lift evacuation orders.
More than 2,500 firefighters were still assigned to the blaze Wednesday evening as it reached 67,240 acres and was 62 percent contained.
"Crews experienced minimal fire behavior throughout the night," Cal Fire said in a Wednesday morning update. "These conditions consisted of creeping and smoldering within the current fire perimeter. Aggressive mopup and tactical patrol continue in areas where the fire’s forward progress has stopped. As people start returning home, be vigilant that emergency crews are still working in the area."

As for weather conditions, there is a slight chance of rain in the coming days but Cal Fire said it is not counting on much.
Battalion Chief Sean Norman said there's a 25 percent chance of getting a quarter-inch of rain over the fire area.
"Chances of rain are pretty minimal over the weekend so we are going to keep our boots on the ground to keep this fire in check," Norman said. "We do expect next week to have more offshore flow and low humidity so we are not letting our guard down."
