Calistoga Christmas Faire Focuses On Philanthropy, Bright Season
The 48th annual community event is dedicated to spreading love and cheer across Napa and Sonoma county lines.

NAPA VALLEY, CA - From the Calistoga Christmas Faire: In the wake of the fires that recently raged through Napa and Sonoma Counties, it’s difficult to begin thinking about the impending holiday season. Thousands of families have begun starting to sift through the ashes with a heavy heart of having lost so many precious treasures. So in the spirit of gratitude and generosity, the annual Calistoga Christmas Faire is joining forces with the Redwood Empire Food Bank and the Calistoga fire department to bring love and cheer to every household this holiday season.
Held annually the first weekend in December, this year’s event will fall on Saturday, December 2nd from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with free admission for all. The heart of the faire is based on fundraising activities from food to toys. The sentiment is heart felt and hopeful that families will come from both Napa and Sonoma Counties to create new memories by participating in a day of community and crafts.
“Traditionally our Christmas Faire is a celebration of community and merriment” shares Napa County Fair CEO Carlene Moore. “And this year we are hoping to reach beyond our county line to invite neighboring communities to join us for a day of healing, compassion, and joy. This year’s festivities include an ornament, toy, and food drive. There will be crafting stations for guests to make ornaments and decorations to take home or to donate to a family in need.”

In addition to helping those affected by the fires, the Calistoga Christmas Faire is working to spread the word that the valley is still open for business. Much like Sonoma County, these areas heavily rely on tourism. And now that the fires are out, local businesses need visitors more than ever before. Many of those displaced from their homes own such businesses as shops, wineries, and restaurants.
The Christmas Faire, now in its 48th year, is part of a larger weekend celebration that kicks off Friday with the Calistoga Holiday Village and ends Saturday night after the world famous Lighted Tractor Parade. Visitors are invited to enjoy the old-fashioned tree lighting, trolley rides, caroling, holiday movies, gingerbread and wine pairings, shopping, dining, and even snow.
