Calistoga Police Warn of Phone Scam

Callers posing as PG&E employees demand payment on late bills.

Callers claiming to be employees for PG&E are targeting Napa Valley homeowners, Calistoga Police said today.

Police said the scammers say that the resident or business owner is overdue on their bill and if they don't pay right away the power will be shut off.

The caller requests that the resident or business owner purchase a "MoneyPak" card from CVS or Rite Aid in the amount of $500.

This MoneyPak card has a code on the back that the scammer wants you to call them back with to be able to steal your money.

If you believe you are overdue on your bill you can confirm this by calling PG&E yourself, police said.
