Caltrans To Remove 9 Infected Elm Trees From SR-29 In Napa County
One-way traffic control will be in effect for five consecutive days for maintenance within the "Elm Tunnel" north of St. Helena.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — Drivers can expect traffic delays next week on state Highway 29 just north of St. Helena.
Caltrans is scheduled to do regular tree maintenance within the St. Helena "Elm Tunnel" from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 1-5.
Along with regular maintenance, crews will remove nine elm trees that are infected with tree rot and Dutch Elm Disease and have become a safety concern, according to Caltrans District 4 Spokesperson Pedro Quintana.

"For worker and public safety, crews will have one-way traffic control in place during the maintenance hours on State Route 29," Quintana said. "Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while driving in this area."
This and all other Caltrans work is weather and conditions permitting, Quintana said.
