County Fire: Some Evacuations Lifted As Containment Grows

YOLO COUNTY, CA -- Containment grew Sunday against a raging wildfire in Northern California that burned more than 88,000 acres. As of Sunday morning, the County Fire in Napa and Yolo counties was 57 percent contained.

The blaze, which erupted at the end of June, sparked east of Lake Berryessa. It was one of several wildfires to to burn in California as the state fought soaring temperatures and low humidity.

Evacuations were lifted for the following areas:

• Along the Eastern shore of Lake Berryessa
• East to the Napa/Yolo County Line
• North of State Highway 128
• South of the intersection of East Side Road
• Knoxville Berryessa Road
• South of Knoxville Berryessa Road

Mandatory evacuations remain in place for the following areas:

• West of State Highway 16 to Berryessa Knoxville Road
• South of Old County Road 40 and North of County Road 53
• West of State Highway 16 to the Yolo/ Lake County Line
• North of County Road 40
• South of the Yolo County line
