Motorcyclist Crashes In Napa, Dies: Police
Salvador Avenue was closed for nearly five hours as Napa police investigated the fatal incident.
NAPA, CA — A motorcyclist died Friday in a crash on Salvador Avenue near Jefferson Street, and the Napa Police Department is seeking video footage as investigators try to piece together what happened.
Personnel with the Napa police and fire departments responded at 4:06 p.m. Friday to numerous reports that a motorcyclist was down in the roadway in the 1300 block of Salvador, east of Jefferson, Napa police Sgt. Aaron Medina said in a news release.
The man was taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, Medina said.

Salvador Avenue was closed at Jefferson Street for five hours as the Napa Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the fatal incident, which included speaking with several witnesses.
"The preliminary investigation indicated the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved and speed was a factor," Medina said.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and it was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs were a factor, the sergeant said.
The Napa County Sheriff-Coroner's Office will release the man's identity once his family members are properly notified.
