Earthquake In Lake County Rattles North Bay

ANDERSON SPRINGS, CA— A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck north of Napa and Sonoma counties in the Lake County community of Anderson Springs at 11:50 a.m. Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, which initially registered as a 4.2-magnitude, was centered 2.5 miles from The Geysers and 21 miles from Santa Rosa.

The quake struck about 1.7 miles deep near the Collayomi fault zone, according to the USGS.

There were no injuries or damages immediately reported but the earthquake was felt from the North Bay to San Francisco and in parts of the East Bay.

Residents in Healdsburg, Geyserville, Middletown, Calistoga, Windsor, Sonoma, Saint Helena, Lower Lake, Novato, San Anselmo, Fairfield, Richmond and San Francisco all reported experiencing the quake — Did YOU feel it?
