Earthquake-Related Injuries Do Not Appear Linked To Death Of Napa Woman, 31
An autopsy performed by the Napa County coroner did not reveal external or internal signs of trauma.

The death of a 31-year-old Napa County woman, who was found unresponsive at her residence some time after Napa’s Sunday earthquake, can not be directly linked to trauma suffered in the quake, according to officials.
Lifesaving measures were initiated to revive Leigh Nicole McDermott on Sunday, and she was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa by ambulance, where she passed away in the Intensive Care Unit at approximately 3 p.m., the Napa County Sheriff’s Office said.
An autopsy performed Thursday by the Napa County Sheriff’s Coroner Division’s Dr. Joseph Cohen did not reveal any external or internal signs of trauma and there is no direct indication that the death was the result of the earthquake, authorities said.

The cause of death is currently listed as pending. The cause of death will be determined by results of histology and toxicology testing, which will take three to four weeks, according to the coroner’s office.
