Expect Delays On Hwy 128 At Capell Creek Bridge In Napa County

CALTRANS TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Construction crews will be bringing in equipment, which will limit road access.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Caltrans issued a traffic advisory for this weekend for state Highway 128 in Capell Valley in Napa County.

Motorists should expect delays at the Capell Creek Bridge construction site starting at 5 a.m. Friday, July 24, and continuing through the weekend until 10 a.m. Monday, July 27.

"Construction crews will be bringing in equipment which will limit the road access as crews will unload two large cranes onto the site," said Pedro Quintana, a spokesperson for Caltrans District 4.

According to Quintana, drivers should expect 20 to 30 minutes delays through the area.

Temporary one-way traffic controls will be in place, and traffic speeds on the bridge remain reduced to 25 mph.

Caltrans expects the new bridge to be completed as early as summer 2021, at which time the permanent new bridge will open to traffic. The temporary bridge will eventually be removed.
