Highway 37 Reopens After Fuel Truck Overturns Near Skaggs Island
The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours as crews transferred the fuel and cleared the wreckage.

NORTH BAY, CA — State Highway 37 reopened around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday after a fuel truck overturned early Tuesday morning near Skaggs Island Road in Solano County, resulting in an hours-long closure of the roadway in both directions.
The big rig crashed at 5:54 a.m. Tuesday on westbound SR-37 (Sears Point Road) just east of Skaggs Island, and a Sig-alert was issued at 6:30 a.m. when both westbound lanes were blocked.
An ambulance crew responded to treat at least one person who suffered injuries in the collision.

Fuel from the overturned tanker had to be transferred onto another carrier in order for crews to clear the overturned big rig, Caltrans District 4 Spokesman Pedro Quintana said.
As the wreckage was cleared, the roadway was closed in both directions between state Highway 121 and Wilson Avenue in Solano County — just south of Sonoma and Napa counties. Traffic heading west on SR-37 from Vallejo was diverted onto Mare Island, while eastbound traffic was diverted onto northbound SR-121, the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans reported.

Caltrans assisted with the highway closure, while the CHP handled the collision investigation.
