Durant, a former National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player award-winner, signed with Golden State this offseason after his Oklahoma City Thunder were eliminated by the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors, led by two-time MVP Stephen Curry, fell just short of back-to-back championships in June when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated them in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Curry opted not to participate on the national team as he recovers from a knee injury suffered in the playoffs.
