Total Eclipse Over Golden Gate Bridge: Bay Area Photos Of The Day

Patch loves photos! Share your photos with your local Patch, and your work could be featured.

BAY AREA, CA — Sandipan Samaddar, a postdoctoral fellow at Scow Lab, UC Davis Department of Land, Air and Water Resources, sent in these incredible images composed from photos he clicked of the super flower blood moon lunar eclipse early Wednesday.

"The first image is a composite of the moon’s different phases with the foreground clicked a few days ago at San Francisco, showing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge," Sandipan wrote in an email to Patch. "In reality, the orbit is much steeper than shown in the image. The images of the moon are clicked from a park near Woodland where I had a wide-open view of the southwestern sky. The images were clicked over a span of 4 hours (1 am- 5 am, May 26, 2021)."

The second image is a composite of the moon's phases during the lunar eclipse, stitched diagonally without a foreground. Sandipan used the same images of the moon to compose both photos.
