
Streetlight conversion project now underway The City’s LED Streetlight Conversion Project is now underway and will continue through January 2014. More than 4,500 streetlights will be upgraded to energy efficient LED fixtures, and this work is expected to save about 1.29 million kilowatt hours, and more than $169,000 of the $300,000 in annual electricity costs needed to power the streetlight system. The first phase of work is schedule for a portion of southeast Napa, show on the map included on the LED Streetlight Conversion Information page.  Impacts of the installation are expected to be minor, with an estimated installation time of 20 to 30 minutes per fixture. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays in residential areas, with possible night work hours along the more heavily traveled collector and arterial streets.
