Napa Man Dies From Injuries Suffered In Physical Fight: Police

Napa police were continuing their investigation into his death.

NAPA, CA — Police on Monday identified a Napa man who died late last week after he was involved in a physical altercation.

Officers were sent at 10:36 a.m. Thursday to reports of the fight outside an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Soscol Avenue.

"When officers arrived they located the victim who was identified as Jason Tygart (age 46, Napa resident) bleeding from the head and mouth," Napa police Lt. Chase Haag said.

Tygart was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. He remained hospitalized overnight, and at 7:32 p.m. Friday, he died from injuries suffered in the altercation, police said.

An investigation into Tygart's death was continuing this week, according to police.

Detectives identified and interviewed the other person involved in the fight, Haag said.

They've also interviewed witnesses, he said.

"At this time no arrests have been made," Haag said.
