Napa Valley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Napa Valley is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Napa Valley Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/15: Professional Day
• 8/16: First Day of School, Early Release Day
• 8/17: Early Release Day
• 8/18: Early Release Day

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/22: Fall Progress Report #1 (HS)

October

• 10/9 - 10/13: Minimum Day E/M (Conferencing)
• 10/27: No School for Students and Teachers, End of First Trimester

November

• 11/9: Fall Progress Report #2 (In Danger of Failing) (HS)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/15: End of First Semester
• 12/18 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 15: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: Students Return
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/15: Spring Progress Report #1 (HS)
• 2/16: No School (Lincoln's Birthday)
• 2/19: No School (President's Day)
• 2/23: End of Second Trimester

March
