With most Napa Valley schools out for Thanksgiving break, the Napa on Ice outdoor rink in Napa was full of kids slipping and sliding on the artificial ice in downtown Napa on Monday.

A group of girls were doing the Hokey Pokey dance while on their skates in the middle of the rink and a few wayward snow balls found their target but most missed. (Always harder when the other person won't stand still.)

One older guy was surprised by a snowball landing on his head from his buddy. He was last seen with ice in his ears looking for the culprit.Several moms and dads were seen attempting to keep their children up on skates a not so easy task.

There were even a few blisters requiring a Band-aid. There were a lot of holding hands as friends helped beginners friends enjoy the sun drenched skating rink experience as Christmas songs played over the loud speakers mixed in with squeals as another near fall was averted or someone went down.

Napa On Ice rink is located at the corner of Coombs and Second Streets in Napa and is open daily. Unlimited skating including skate rental for all ages is $12.
