POLICE LOG: Man Arrested On Suspicion of Causing Injury To 1-Year-Old Child
Multiple arrests over the weekend.

A 21-year-old Napa man was arrested at 5 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of willful cruelty to a child, battery and causing injury to a child.
Steven Fussell was taken into custody at the Napa Police Department.
The incident began when officers were dispatched to a call of a child abuse that occurred at a residence in the 1800 block of Main Street in Napa.
An officer contacted the reporting party who told him that Fussell and his 1-year-old son spent the night at her house the previous night.
During the night, Fussell took the 1-year-old into the bathroom because the child was crying and would not stop. The following morning the reporting party saw the 1-year-old’s face and noticed it was bruised.
She said the child was not bruised when she saw him the previous night. She described the child as having significant bruising.
The reporting party told the officer that Fussell and the child were at his residence in the 3000 block of Hilltop Drive. She was concerned for the child and believed he may need medical attention.
Officers went to the residence on Hilltop Drive and contacted Fussell. Officers entered the residence to check on the welfare of the child. An officer located the child in a crib within one of the bedrooms. The child had significant injuries to his head.
The child was transported by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Medical Center and eventually transferred to Oakland Children’s Hospital for head trauma. (There is no further information on the condition of the child at this time.)
Fussell was taken to Napa Police Department where he was interviewed regarding the injuries to his son.
After the interview, Fussell was arrested and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
