Steph Curry Returning To Napa Valley For Safeway Open Pro-Am
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry returns to the Pro-Am to tee off with golf great Phil Mickelson.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Golden State Warriors' Stephen "Steph" Curry is a two-time NBA MVP and a three-time NBA champion. Next week, the star point guard can add two-time Safeway Pro-Ammer to his ever-growing list of titles and accomplishments.
Curry is set to play in the Safeway Open Pro-Am presented by Citi at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa Valley. Curry will be paired with 44-time PGA TOUR winner and tournament ambassador Phil Mickelson for an 11:40 a.m. tee time Wednesday, Sept. 25, organizers of the event sponsored by Chevron announced.
"The Phil, Stephen pairing in the Pro-Am will provide golf fans a fun day on the course where I'm sure the banter will prove to be very entertaining," said Jeff Sanders, president of Lagardere Sports Golf Events Division.

"As we know, Stephen's shooting stroke is the best in the NBA, but he doesn't get enough credit for his great golf swing! The Pro-Am is always a great day to get up close to the players and watch great golf," Sanders said. "It will be fun for the fans to see Stephen playing with Phil, the two best shot makers in their respective sports!"
The last time Curry was in town for the Safeway Open Pro-Am was in 2016. But that doesn't mean he hasn't been hitting the green. Most recently, he hosted the inaugural Stephen Curry Charity Classic golf tournament. Held Sept. 16 at San Francisco's TPC Harding Park, the event raised money for the Eat. Learn. Play Foundation, an organization launched in July by Steph and Ayesha Curry.

"I am looking forward to playing at Silverado Resort in the Safeway Open Pro-Am again this year," Curry said. "It is a great event, and to have the opportunity to play with a pro like Phil Mickelson is incredibly exciting."
Following Wednesday's Curry-Mickelson tee-off, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will hit the green at 11:50 a.m. with the fifth-ranked player in the world, PGA golfer Justin Thomas.
World Golf Hall of Fame member Fred Couples and world-renowned Michelin star chef Thomas Keller, will tee off at noon. Other top PGA TOUR players scheduled to play Wednesday in the pro-am include: Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau, Adam Scott, Francesco Molinari, Brandt Snedeker, Jim Furyk and John Daly.
The star-studded pro-am kicks off a four-day PGA Tour tournament which runs Thursday through Sunday. Daily tickets to the Safeway Open start at $35 and include admission to the concert series and six hospitality venues at the course, including a food and wine pavilion.
