Will a Proposed Napa Oak Measure Make it to the Ballot?
Proponents of a measure to strengthen development laws are still trying to get their initiative on the November ballot.

Napa County, CA -- Proponents of a measure to strengthen development laws are still trying to get their initiative on the November ballot.
Those behind the Water, Forest and Oak Woodland Protection Measure have filed with the 1st District Court of Appeal in San Francisco after their ballot measure was rejected by the Napa County Registrar of Voters, according to The Napa Valley Register.
The office rejected the measure because it wasn't filed with the full text of the initiative. A Superior Court ruling backed the Registrar's decision, according to the newspaper.

If the initiative makes it to the ballot and is approved by voters, development laws around new vineyards would change. "The measure would increase buffer zones near streams and limit how many oaks could be cut down on a property," according to the newspaper.
