Balboa Bay Resort Presents Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival Wine Dinner Series
October 27 event features Celebrity Chef Richard Blais

The Balboa Bay Resort is hosting the Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival Wine Dinner Series featuring Celebrity Chef Richard Blais along with Balboa Bay Resort’s Executive Chef Rachel Haggstrom. The event will take place Friday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. at Waterline, the hotel’s signature waterfront restaurant and features a five-course wine dinner, during which guests will get to meet-and-greet with both chefs.
In a collaboration with Newport Beach Wine & Food and Balboa Bay Resort, the event was organized with the intention to curate an elevated and intimate dining experience for residents and guests of the iconic Newport Beach resort. The menu reflects seasonal ingredients and includes:
- Dungeness Crab Cake: fresh Dungeness crab salad with crispy tuille, spicy remoulade, celery, blood orange, avocado and chopped cilantro
- Butternut Squash Soup: kabocha squash, pork belly, brussels sprouts
- nasturtium, pepitas and rye cracker
- Cavatelli Pasta: house-made pasta with sage and walnut, bolognaise
- 72-hour Short Ribs: tender short ribs with parsnip puree, braised parsnips, pearl onion
- Candy Apple: white chocolate, melted caramel, green apple and a classic pan d’epice
