17-Year-Old Killed In Fatal Vineland Avenue Car Crash

Brianna Wolfe was one of two victims in Saturday's fatal crash involving a car that crossed over the median and hit a pedestrian.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — The second victim in the fatal car crash on Vineland Avenue was identified Tuesday by the county coroner's office. The crash happened around 6:26 p.m. Saturday on Vineland Avenue near Oxnard Street.

After the accident, LAPD said a gray Saturn ION was driving south on Vineland Avenue when he crossed over into northbound traffic and ran off the roadway. The car hit a pedestrian and multiple parked cars before coming to a stop.

Edgar Kocharya, a 36-year-old North Hollywood resident, was identified as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by the speeding car. Kocharya was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer William Cooper.

Tuesday, the coroner's office announced 17-year-old Brianna Wolfe was the second victim in the deadly crash. Wolf was one of the car's four passengers, and had been taken to a local trauma center where she was pronounced dead.

The car's other passengers were also taken to nearby trauma centers, and their condition is unknown.
