2 Dogs And Hikers Trapped On Griffith Park Cliffside Rescued

It was a harrowing effort to rescue two dogs and hikers trapped up a steep slope as the set began to set Friday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles firefighters rescued two hikers and dogs trapped on a steep cliffside in Griffith Park Friday evening.

Los Angeles firefighters considered an air response with Park Rangers to hoist the hikers and pups to safety on a board hovering below the Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Helicopter. Ultimately, CBSLA video from the scene showed firefighters clinging to the hillside and snatching up the dogs as they slid down the slope.

It was a dramatic rescue attempted as the sun began to set. The firefighters succeeded in saving the hikers and their animals.
