2 North Hollywood Men Admit to Stealing Beef From Kansas

A pair of brothers face jail time after their plans to con a Tyson plant are foiled.

Two men from North Hollywood have pleaded guilty in their roles for attempting to steal $87,500 worth of processed beef from a Tyson Fresh Meats plant in Holcomb, Kanasas, North Jersey reports.

Oganes Nagapetian, 53, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit interstate shipment fraud, while his brother, Tigran Nagapetian, 50, admitted he lied to Kansas state troopers about his brothers actions.

An indictment from April alleged that the suspects used the identity of a Pennsylvania trucking company to bid on hauling the beef to California through a freight broker based in Ohio, according to the Wichita Eagle.

The crime happened in Nov. 2011.

Both Nagapetians are due for sentencing on Jan. 27, 2014.
