BLM Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors To Speak At Oakwood School
Cullors will kick off the 14th year of the school's 'Voiced Envisioned' program.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Oakwood School in North Hollywood will welcome Patrisse Cullors, Co-Founder of Black Lives Matter, to speak at the school's Voices Envisioned series. Cullors will be the first speaker in the 2020-2021 season, the 14th year of the program.
The virtual event will take place at 7 p.m. Interested attendees can RSVP here.
Cullors co-founded Black Lives Matter in 2013 along with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi. The three women, who have been on the frontlines on the fight against anti-black racism, were honored as one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2020.

In 2018, Cullors published the book When They Call You a Terrorist, a memoir on her experiences as a leader and the childhood stories that created her social justice formation. The book made the New York Times Bestseller list and was recently adapted for younger readers.
The Voices Envisioned series is designed to engage the Oakwood community in dialogue around issues of inclusion and social justice.

"We are honored to welcome artist, organizer, activist, freedom fighter, and co-founder of Black Lives Matter Patrisse Cullors as our first Voices Envisioned speaker of the new school year," Oakland School wrote on its website. "This virtual talk will center around activism and community organizing."
