City Worker Dies Falling Off Tow Truck In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A city worker fell from a tow truck in North Hollywood Friday, hit his head on the ground and died.

The accidental fall happened about 3:25 p.m. outside 5918 Tujunga Ave., near Oxnard Street, Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

"Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and they performed CPR on the injured man, but they couldn't revive him," Prange said.

The victim's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Mayor's Crisis Response Team was sent to the scene to assist the other city workers at the site, Prange continued.

The incident was being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department and the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, Prange said.
