The first 100 through the door at the restaurant's opening in Burbank won a year of free meals.
BURBANK, CA –Camping out overnight at Burbank’s new Chick-fil-A parking lot paid off for 100 individuals who received a year of free meals.
The "First 100" event is a tradition for the fast-food chain as store owners hand the first 100 through the door on opening day a card loaded with 52 Chick-fil-A meals, approximately a $400 value.
Carrying tents, air mattresses, blankets and other overnight gear, nearly 150 people arrived at the new restaurant at 3113 W. Olive Ave. hoping to secure spots to be among the first eligible guests.

Chick-fil-A, which provides entertainment, security, games and restroom access, held a drawing to select the lucky 100, all 18 and over and from nearby Zip codes.
The location is Burbank's first Chick-fil-A and is owned by Kenny Schopp, an Arkansas native who said he always knew he wanted to have his own business. While working in the Bay Area as a teacher, along with his wife, Jenny, Schopp got his first taste of Chick-fil-A at a Fairfield location and fell hard for the chain and its signature sauce.
