DUI Checkpoint Scheduled In North Hollywood This Weekend

LAPD officers will be stationed in the area looking for signs of impaired driving.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department will hold a series of DUI checkpoints this weekend, including a stop in North Hollywood. Patrol officers will be posted in the North Hollywood area from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. this Sunday.

"Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests," LAPD said in a statement. "The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired. During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs."

LAPD offered the following tips for drivers to stay safe on the roads.
