DUI Checkpoints Scheduled Near North Hollywood This Weekend

LAPD officers will be stationed in the area looking for signs of impaired driving.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department will hold a series of DUI checkpoints this weekend, including a pair of stops near North Hollywood. This Saturday, patrol officers will be posted in the West Valley area from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and at Glenoaks Boulevard and Truesdale Street in Sun Valley from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

"Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests," LAPD said in a statement. "The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired. During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs."

LAPD offered the following tips for drivers to stay safe on the roads.
