Free Produce Giveaway Hosted By NoHo Home Alliance

Residents in need of fresh food to stock the fridges can stop by St. Matthew's Lutheran Church this weekend.

The NoHo Home Alliance will host a free produce giveaway Saturday morning for those in need of fresh food to put in the fridge. The giveaway will run from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, located at 11031 Camarillo St.

The event will be held through a new partnership with the Los Angeles Food Bank and Cal Fresh, and will be held every Saturday going forward.

"The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, in collaboration with CalFresh Healthy Living and NoHo Home Alliance invite the community to participate in the Food for Thought Produce Pick-up," the coalition said. "Drive-thru and walkups are welcome."

Attendees should enter through the alley on Camarillo Street. Masks are required, and free PPE will also be available.

NoHo Home Alliance was founded in 2016, and works to address homelessness, food insecurity and other social issues in the San Fernando Valley. On Thursday at 7 p.m., the organization will host another volunteer training session for those looking to get involved.

In this one hour session you'll learn about different ways you can serve at NoHo Home Alliance's amazing access centers for people experiencing homelessness," the organization said. "You'll find out about NHHA's distinctive culture and values of relationship, worthiness, inclusion and collaboration and will learn trauma-informed, harm-reduction methods.
