Hansen Dam Vaccination Site Closes Early Due To High Winds

Residents with vaccine appointments were instead asked to go to Dodger Stadium before 7 p.m.

PACOIMA, CA — The Hansen Dam vaccination and testing site closed early on Tuesday, due to dangerously high winds in the area. The site had previously been a coronavirus testing location, but started delivering vaccines on January 6.

Those who had made vaccine appointments for Monday were instead asked to go to Dodger Stadium anytime before 7 p.m. Coronavirus tests were available at the San Fernando site at 208 Park Ave., or the West Valley site at 6097 Canoga Ave.

Winds in the San Fernando Valley were blowing as high as 75 mph Tuesday morning. A high wind warning remains for the valley in effect through Wednesday afternoon, while a Red Flag Warning was set to expire Tuesday night.
