NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Los Angeles is beginning to open back up! As more and more residents begin to receive their vaccinations, guidelines are loosening and businesses are reopening their doors.

Many familiar faces are returning to the scene, while some new restaurants and coffee shops are stepping into the fray as we approach summer. In West Hollywood, Blackwood Coffee Bar just opened their second location along Santa Monica Boulevard, bringing an end to a lengthy moving process that started in 2019.

Elsewhere in Hollywood, Musso & Frank Grill announced they will finally reopen on May 6, almost 10 months after they shut down operations in July. The 102-year old restaurant will be able to serve guests just in time for Mother's Day, with their tried-and true formula that has earned them plenty of success over the years.

"This past year has been filled with extraordinary unknowns as we have all had to adapt our personal lives in ways we could have never imagined," owner Mark Echevveria said. "The Team at Musso's is committed to keeping tradition and Hollywood history alive! This is why we did not change a thing this past year! Aside from the various health safety measures, the essence of Musso's, our fine cuisine and outstanding Team you have all come to love, have not changed!

In North Hollywood, NoHo Home launched another day of services for unhoused residents in Studio City. Every Tuesday, unhoused residents can come by for food, hygiene services and more, along with more long-term solutions to help people get back on their feet.

"At our drop-in services, we've discovered only 50% of the guests who come to us are already being engaged by the homelessness service system," founder Stephanie Jaeger said. "We're here to interact with that other 50%, with those who are not already in the system and not yet connected to the possibility of housing."

Universal Studios Hollywood reopened after more than a year, welcoming back fans with the new rides "The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!" and "Jurassic World - The Ride." Although the park is currently only available to California residents, the theme park plans to welcome out-of-state guests who have been vaccinated in the coming weeks.

Finally in Pacific Palisades, the Getty Villa also reopened after a 13 month hiatus. The cultural center is currently showing a special exhibit on Mesopotamia for those looking to peruse through some ancient artifacts, or simply stroll through the gardens.

"The Getty Villa is one of the most unique experiences of any art museum, and we are delighted to be able to welcome visitors once again after more than a year's closure," Getty leaders said in a statement. "And never have we had a more enticing combination of displays for them to enjoy. As well as our collections of ancient Greek and Roman art, we are now able to present the most important exhibition of Mesopotamian art ever seen on the West Coast, on loan from the incomparable collections of the Musée du Louvre in Paris."
