Hiring Underway for New Chick-fil-A In Burbank

The restaurant, set to open in January on West Olive Avenue, is planning to hire more than 100 employees. Sundays off!

BURBANK, CA – Burbank is poised to welcome its first Chick-fil-A restaurant in January, and the hiring of 100-plus employees is starting, according to company officials.

The newest location of the fast-food franchise will be at 3113 W. Olive Ave., a stand-alone eatery which is the dream of owner Kenny Schopp, an Arkansas native who was raised in Chicago and always knew he wanted to own his own business one day.

While working in the Bay Area as a teacher, along with his wife, Jenny, Schopp got his first taste of Chick-fil-A at a Fairfield location and fell hard for the chain and its signature sauce.

As he plans to open the doors to his new franchise, Schopp is hiring upwards of 100 team members, full- and part-time, for various positions in the restaurant, including leadership development, hospitality, catering, training and marketing, company officials said.

Each position includes such benefits as scholarships for continuing education, plus Sundays off and flexible schedules, management said.

Chick-fil-A workers are eligible for the chain’s "Remarkable Futures" corporate initiative, which provides $14.5 million in annual scholarships. Ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, the scholarships are based on leadership, community involvement and academic achievement.

An opening tradition for all Chick-fil-As are the overnight "First 100" pop-up parties, in which fans camp out overnight in the parking lot to be among the first 100 in line and through the door on opening day to have a chance to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.
