Hit-and-Run Driver Returns, Then Leaves Again
Motorist hit two people in Sherman Oaks; one died at scene. Police looking for a sedan, possibly maroon in color.
A woman was killed today by a hit-and-run motorist in Sherman Oaks, who police said returned to the location to take a look at the woman and then drive away again.
She was with a male friend attempting to the cross the street in the area of Moorpark Street and Matilija Avenue at 2:15 a.m. when she was struck by the motorist, possibly driving a maroon sedan, said Officer William Wood of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.
The woman died at the scene, but her male friend was not injured, Wood said.

According to the officer, witnesses said the motorist returned to the scene to take a look at the woman, before driving away again.
